The following verses declare the sovereignty of God and His wondrous love for mankind:
“The Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality nor takes bribe”( Deut.10:17)
“Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You”( Jer.32:17).
“ He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him for us all, how shall He not with him also give us all things”?( Rom. 8:32).
Despite God’s supreme power and marvellous love for mankind yet there are certain things He will never do for you, not because He does not love you. These are things God will never do for you:
- God will never tempt you. I have heard some people when faced with certain challenges, would say God is tempting them but the Scripture says, “Let no one say when he is tempted,”I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn by his own desires and enticed”(James 1:13-14).
- God will never give you a stone when you ask for bread nor a snake when you ask for fish. Sometimes we accuse God when things do not favour us.I have heard mothers whose children have gone way Ward say, ‘ God, why did you give me this kind of a child’ or when they have a problem with their spouses they blame God for giving them, such spouses. This is what the word of God says, ”Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!”(Mat.7:9-11).
- God will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you can bear. Many a time when faced with challenges we say ‘God, this is too much for me’. This is what the word of God says, “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear” (1Cor.10:13).
- God will not give you His glory. Sometimes when God uses us to do something great we tend to take the glory for ourselves by lifting our shoulders high that we are able to do things which others cannot do.God, in the book of Isaiah 42:8 said, “I am the Lord, that is my name; my glory I will not give another, nor my praise to carved images”.
- God will never hear you if you do not ask according to His Will. Sometimes we ask God certain things that are contrary to His Will and we wait indefinitely without an answer. The Bible has this to say, “You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures” (James 4:3).
- God will never answer you if you don’t trust Him. There are times we pray earnestly yet our prayers remain unanswered; sometimes it is because we fail to trust Him. If we fail to trust Him He will not answer us.Heb.10:6 says, “But without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him”. James 1:6 says, “But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let, not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord”.
God is light and in Him is no darkness at all so He will never do anything contrary to His nature neither can He trade His glory.
