Marital issues when they linger can make a marriage relationship frustrating because they create communication gap easily. As a wife, it is expected that you create an enabling environment for the relationship to be revived. But doing that may not be easy especially if the issue at stake is caused by the man. Approaching it by confrontation can only worsen the situation if he is not willing to humble himself.
What is the best thing to do as a Christian wife determined to make your marriage work? The best thing to do is prayers. But it is possible you have tried, and it seems not to be working. At this point you may be wondering the next thing to do.
Persist in your prayers
Jesus instructed us to always pray without giving up. As was his culture, he gave a parable about a widow to demonstrate this. He said, a widow approached one wicked judge to grant her judgment against her adversary, but the judge kept putting her off. She kept going to the judge without relenting, and then the judge decided to grant her request lest she wear him down. Jesus said, “
Don’t grow weary, keep praying; God will surely answer you.
Pray according to God’s Will
Perhaps you are filled with despair, and your feelings toward your husband have grown cold such that you resent him. When you kneel down to pray, your mind depicts his attitudes toward you, and you feel angry? Yes, it hurts; but for God to answer your prayer you need to free your mind by forgiving him and allow God to have his way. Ask God for the grace, and he will give you. The scripture says,
Have faith in God
As you pray, if God seems to be delaying never lose confidence in him; take him by his word. He is a faithful God who does not fail his promise. He is not a man that He should lie.(Num.23:19) But God depends on your faith in him to act in your situation. The Bible says it is impossible to please him without faith. Whoever comes to him must believe that he exists and that he graciously rewards those who seek him diligently.(Heb.11:6). So, don’t depend on how you feel; free your mind, and surrender everything to God. Surely, He will act at the appointed time, and you would see his intervention in your marriage.
Be Patient
Keep praying and trusting; God’s timing is different from our own timing. Don’t get weary and lose heart. God’s ways are different from our ways, be patient, and wait for his own timing. He wants you to learn patience; so don’t get tired and lose hope. The letter of James encourages us to be patient as the farmer, who sows his seeds and wait patiently for them to germinate and grow until they produce fruits. (James 5: 7-8) .
Our success depends on persistent prayers
As a matter of fact, for you to be successful in life generally, prayer must become part of your lifestyle. If the Lord Jesus had to pray to succeed in his ministry here on earth, how much more do we ought to pray? Our wisdom will fail us, as well as our strength because the devil is the one against our relationships, and he is and smarter and stronger than us. Only Jesus has the power to overcome him, and him alone can give us victory over the devil’s attacks.
We have a duty to pray for ourselves, husbands, and our children. It surprises me when some women drag with their husbands when it comes to prayer. I don’t mean the usual family prayer, but you need to create a special time to pray for the success of your marriage even when there are no issues as a safeguard.

This post is so timely to me, although I’m not married, I’m applying it to my daily life because both married and unmarried people face challenges on a daily basis.
May God continue to grant you grace and knowledge of his word because all your posts have impacted in my life.
May God continue bless you.
